Privacy Policy
Jerry is an iOS app that helps you save, analyze and organize content with the help of AI. This page describes what data we collect, why we collect it, what we do with it, and how to delete it.
The app is currently in early beta, distributed only via Apple's TestFlight to friends and family. We've kept this policy short and direct so you can actually read it. See also our Terms of Service.
1. Who runs Jerry
Jerry is built by an independent team of two people, Eden Levy and Erez Dagan.
If you have any privacy question, write to erez@jerryapp.io. We read everything personally.
2. What we collect
2.1 Account information
You sign in with Apple or Google. We store:
- Your email address (from Apple or Google sign-in, used as your login)
- A randomly generated user ID
- The date you signed up and the date you last opened the app
We never see or store your Apple or Google password — sign-in is handled by Apple and Google directly.
2.2 The content you save into Jerry
You can save many kinds of content into Jerry: social media posts (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Reddit, Pinterest, Threads), other web pages and links, screenshots and images, voice memos and audio files, and PDF documents. When you save something, we store:
- The original URL, or the file/image you uploaded
- Any text, note or instruction you added when saving
- A copy of the content's media (image / video / thumbnail / file) on our servers, so it loads quickly inside the app
- AI-generated analysis of the content (categories, tags, on-screen text, transcript, extracted items, etc.)
- The topics you organize the content into
2.3 Your conversations with the AI chat
When you use the chat feature, we store the full conversation — both your messages and the AI's replies — so the chat remembers context and so you can see your chat history later.
2.4 Usage data
We use Mixpanel to track which features get used (content saved, topics created, chat messages sent, etc.). This includes basic device info (iOS version, device model, app version) and your randomly-generated user ID. We also enable Mixpanel's session replay, which records a visual playback of your sessions in the app to help us spot UX problems. Text you type is automatically masked in replays — we never see typed passwords, emails, or chat input through this channel.
2.5 Crash and error logs
We use Sentry to collect crash reports and error logs from your device. This includes the stack trace, your iOS version, device model, app version, and your randomly-generated user ID. If a crash happens with the app in the foreground, Sentry may attach a screenshot of what was on screen at the moment of the crash.
2.6 Subscriptions
If you subscribe to a paid plan, the purchase is handled by Apple's App Store and managed through RevenueCat, which tracks your subscription status so we know which plan you're on. RevenueCat receives your randomly-generated user ID and the purchase details from Apple — never your card number or payment details, which stay with Apple.
3. Why we collect each thing
- Account info — so you can sign in and so we can tie your saved content and chats to you.
- Saved content — that's the whole product. Without this we can't show you your own library.
- Chat conversations — context for the AI; chat history for you.
- Usage data — to understand which features matter and what to build next.
- Crash logs — to fix bugs before they affect you again.
- Subscription status — so we can unlock paid features for subscribers.
4. Who we share data with
We don't sell or rent your data. We share it with a small set of service providers we need to run the app:
- Supabase — hosts our database, file storage, and authentication. Your account, saved content, and chats live here. (privacy policy)
- Google (Gemini AI) — processes the content you save and your chat messages to generate AI analysis and replies. Google's policy on Gemini API usage applies. (privacy policy)
- Apify — scrapes the public content of social media posts you share into the app. Apify only sees the URL of the post you saved, not your account. (privacy policy)
- Mixpanel — product analytics + session replay. (privacy policy)
- Sentry — crash reporting. (privacy policy)
- RevenueCat — manages subscriptions and tracks your plan status. (privacy policy)
5. Where your data lives
Your account and content are stored on Supabase in US-East (Northern Virginia). Analytics, crash, and subscription data are stored on Mixpanel, Sentry, and RevenueCat's US infrastructure.
6. How long we keep your data
For as long as you have an account. If you delete your account (see section 8), all of your data is removed from our database within 7 days. Backup copies are removed within 30 days.
Aggregated, anonymous statistics (e.g., “Jerry had 50 active users last week”) may be retained after account deletion since they can't be tied back to any individual.
7. Your rights
You can, at any time:
- Access your data — email us and we'll send you a copy.
- Correct your data — fix your email, your content, your topic titles, anything.
- Delete your account — see section 8.
- Object to a particular use — email us.
If you're an EU/UK resident, you also have rights under GDPR. We respect those rights regardless of where you live.
8. How to delete your account
Open Jerry → tap your profile → tap “Delete Account” → confirm. Your account and all associated content (saved content, topics, chats, analytics user ID) are deleted from our active database immediately. Backups expire within 30 days.
You can also email erez@jerryapp.io from the address tied to your account and we'll delete it manually.
9. Children
Jerry is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, contact us and we'll delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make any meaningful change to how we collect or use data, we'll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, tell you inside the app on next launch.
11. Contact
Privacy questions, data requests, account deletion, complaints: erez@jerryapp.io.
